A graphic designer and marketing professional for over 20 years, Kurt has created award-winning graphic design for a regional and national clientele. His areas of expertise include corporate identity, brand strategies, packaging, and collateral materials. Kurt’s ability to gauge a project’s creative complexity and capture the creative vision allows him to produce solutions that are on-brand and on-strategy — both for the client and the audience. His work has been recognized by Communication Arts, Print Magazine Regional Design Annual, American Institute of Graphic Artists, Rockport Publishers, Graphic Design USA, Communicator Awards, Montana Addy Awards.
As Ripple Marketing's Creative Director he helps redefine and reshape client’s brands through strong leadership and collaboration. Kurt provides the orchestration of Ripple’s creative team as it executes fully integrated marketing communication programs. He stays abreast of current trends and technologies and has a keen understanding of the complexities of the new multimedia applications necessary to initiate and advance a client’s marketing initiatives in an ever-changing marketplace.
In 1990 Kurt co-founded Palmquist Creative, a Strategic Image Management company (Bozeman, Montana) and in the Spring of 2003 Palmquist Creative merged with Ripple Marketing (Bozeman, Montana) a marketing research firm to create a new, highly integrated, marketing company, of which he is Creative Director and Managing Partner. His vast design and marketing experience have served a wide range of clients from professional service firms to product manufacturing companies, including the Italian Trade Commission, ProPharma Group, Great Harvest Bread Franchising, NXGEN Payment Services, The Foundation for Investor Education (The Stock Market Game), Big Sky Carvers, Mystery Ranch, Renaissance Marine Group, Zoot Enterprises, to name a few.
Kurt began his career with Rick Eiber Design (RED) Seattle, Washington — one of the top corporate design firms in the Northwest, specializing in corporate identity, corporate collateral, capabilities materials, direct mail catalogs, poster design and packaging. While at RED, Kurt had the opportunity to work on numerous national and regional accounts including The Boeing Company and Weyerhauser.

Kurt is also a founding member and Creative Director for Flat Earth Imports® along with Ripple Marketing partners Kitch Walker and Denise Palmquist. Based in Bozeman, Montana, Flat Earth Imports is an innovative importer and wholesaler providing select resellers access to one of the fastest growing collections of Autentico Italiano artisans and products available in the U.S. marketplace.
Flat Earth Imports works with manufacturers in Italy and retailers and trade professionals in the United States to offer a cooperative, refined solution that optimizes the benefits for all. Education & Consultative Roles
Kurt received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Graphic Design from Montana State University–Bozeman and has worked as an Adjunct Instructor of Graphic Design in MSU’s College of Arts and Architecture teaching graphic design. Ripple marketing staff frequently includes an intern from the MSU Graphic Design program, of which Kurt manages and guides throughout the internship. Kurt is currently a board member and past Chairman of the MSU School of Art Advisory Council. In addition he has previously served on the board of directors of the Classics for Kids Foundation, and Sweet Pea Festival of the Arts.
He enjoys spending time with his wife Denise and two boys Erik and Blake. He is an avid runner, mountain biker and skier. Kurt serves on the board of directors for Bozeman Blitzz FC soccer club as well as playing soccer in the local adult recreational league.
